Paul A. Wooley Obituary
Paul Alston Wooley, 93, of Sanford, MI died peacefully in his home on Sunday morning, February 19, 2023. He was born on August 31, 1929 in Beaverton and was the son of the late Stephen and Vera Verna (Patrick) Wooley. He graduated from Beaverton High School in 1947. He married the late Roberta Powell on December 30, 1950 and together they had 7 children. He married the late Evelyn McIntosh in 2004.
Paul served as Corporal, US Army, in Water Distillation and was present for 5 atomic bomb testings at Camp Desert Rock, NV. Upon returning home he worked at Dow Chemical for 22 years, and trained in Sheet Metal Fabrication. He worked 20 years with Local 408 and later Local 7 Sheet Metal Workers International Association, where he served 3 years on the executive board and 7 years on the Joint Apprenticeship committee and was involved as a layout instructor.
Paul's hobbies and activities were family oriented: Little League, Boy Scouts, Camping, Roller Skating, Bowling, Antique and Classic Cars, and Auction Sales. He enjoyed traveling and square dancing with Roberta.
Paul is survived by his children Marcia Whitmer, Diane (Norm) Lake, Scott (Judy) Wooley, Mike (Jo) Wooley, Debbie Wyllys, Carla (Ed) Tucker, Pam (Ron) Bigham, 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, sister, Bonnie Grant, and special friend, Celia Schreiner.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24 at 11am at Wilson MILLER Funeral Home with Pastor Rod Reid officiating. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, February 23 from 4p-8p and from 10am until time of service on Friday. Memorials may be offered to Compassus Hospice or Midland Community Cancer Services.
