He was predeceased by: his parents, Blucher Swem and Ruby Belle Swem (Eggleston); his wife Betty Snyder; and his siblings, Alice Swem, Mildred Swem, Royal Swem and Bernard Swem.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Swem (Joanne), Janet Fox (Leonard) and Judy Ciesielski; his grandchildren, Trevor (Darcy), Tracy (Peter), Ryan (Erin), Troy (Annah), Taylor, Kevin and Kelly; his great grandchildren, Henry, Holden, Cora, Eva, Leo, Louisa, August and Kason; and his sister Celestine Olson (William). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
