He was predeceased by: his parents, Coy D. Tompkins and Daisy Tompkins (McLean). He is survived by: his children, Sharon Carruthers (James) and Norman A. Tompkins (Susan); his grandchildren, Scott Carruthers (Lisa), Brent Tompkins (Meg), Kelli Meyer (Mike) and Karri Palmer (Ben); and his great grandchildren, Grace, Ryan, Dyllan, Carter, Mylah, Coy, Claire, Payton and Morgan.

Memorials may be directed to the American Heart Association.
