Rita Catherine Essenmacher Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Catherine Essenmacher of Sandusky, Michigan, who passed away on November 12, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Kranz and Magdalain Kranz (Messing); her husband Alvin Essenmacher; her daughter Margie M. Essenmacher; and her brother Donald Kranz.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Nelson (Randall) of Texas, Denise Place (Timothy) of South Carolina, Amy Keillor (Todd) of Grand Rapids and Keith Essenmacher of Carsonville; and her siblings, Marlene Smithers (Bob) of Bad Axe, Wayne Kranz (Janet) of Bad Axe, Richard Kranz of Nevada, Alvin Kranz of California and Kenny Kranz of Bad Axe. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A rosary was held on Sunday, November 17th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Marsh Funeral Chapel (396 S Sandusky Rd, Sandusky, MI 48471). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Family Parish (59 N Moore St, Sandusky, MI 48471).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Rita's name for staff appreciation.
