He was predeceased by: his parents, Waldo Cole and Mary Cole; his parents-in-law, Kathryn Loud and James Newland; his siblings, Max, Art, Jim Cole, Ruthann Baxter, Beverly Parker and Patricia Holland (Patti); and his siblings-in-law, Gary Baxter, Clifford Newland, Floyd Knapp, William Berndt, Judy Cole and Carolyn Knapp.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; his children, Michelle Shuart (Ed) and Mitch Cole (Beth) of Sand Lake; his grandchildren, Tyler Oakes (Sami), Travis Oakes (Paige) of Sand Lake and Marissa Crissman (Austin) of Ionia; his great grandchild Trey Corey of Greenville; and his siblings-in-law, Cindy Cole of Cedar Springs, Gloria Cole of Sand Lake, Barbara Berndt of Shelby Township, Gerald Parker of Cedar Springs and Patrick Holland of Cedar Springs. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
