She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clayton Simpson and Mable Simpson (Gibson); her husband Nile Hayden; her children, Cherrie Camilleri, Carrie Smith (Warren) and Charles Hayden (Martha); and her sister Carol Simpson. She was also cherished by six grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ruth's name can be made to the Sand Lake Fire Department, 2 E. Maple St., Sand Lake, Michigan 49343 or to the Nelson Township / Sand Lake Library, 88 Bass Lake Rd., Sand Lake, Michigan 49343.
