She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Petersen and Ethel Petersen; her brother Harold Petersen; her husband William Genung; and her daughter Deb Russo.

She is survived by: her children, Mike Barrett (Shelly) of Hastings, Bill Barrett (Peg) of Sand Lake, Lori DeYoung (Dave) of Middleville, Tom Barrett of Wyoming and Karen Clark (Kevin) of Ludington; and her brother-in-law Bud Genung of Norton Shores. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a donation in her name to Michigan.
