She was predeceased by: her father Paul Burke. She is survived by: her mother Margaret Burke (Stuits); her husband David Dewey; her children, David Dewey (Roshelle) and Kristen Green (Joshua); her grandchildren, Alexander, Braydon, Jade, Jorja, Josilyn and Julian; her siblings, Gary Burke (Candace), Scott Burke (Cindy) and Cheryl Heyboer (Terry); and her siblings-in-law, Lawrence Dewey (Luanne), John Dewey (Jody), Joanne Verburg (Jerry) and Patricia Anderson (Richard). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Even after retiring, she completed the necessary steps to return as a counselor to help out students having troubles during the pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to L.O.V.E., Native Circle of Newaygo County, Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation, or Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan.
