He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Hoeft and Bertha A. Kromrei Hoeft; his brothers, Robert, Richard, Leslie and Douglas Hoeft; and his niece Sherry Holmstead.
He is survived by: his wife Audrey Weingardt; and his brothers, David Hoeft (Joyce) of Manchester, Daniel Hoeft and James Hoeft (Cheryl) of Saline. He is also survived by nineteen nieces and nephews and thirty-seven great nieces and nephews.
