He was predeceased by: his parents, John Newman and Catherine Marguerite Newman (Beard); his sisters, Marge Goddard and Florence Kondrat; his niece Carol Goddard; and his granddaughter Emily Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Frances Splitt; his children, Debra Ellison of Manchester, John Newman (Shawn) of Honey Creek and Robert Newman (Beth) of Chelsea; his grandchildren, David Ellison, Lindsay Watts (Daniel), Michael Newman (Celeste), Meghan Newman, Emma Newman, Eric Newman (Julia) and Kristen Beneteau (Michael); and his great grandchildren, Anna Watts, Cameron Watts and Avaly Newman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's name may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church of Bridgewater in Saline, and envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
