It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Herbert James Greaves (Saline, Michigan), born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on March 7, 2022, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Donna Kay Poet; his sister Kandice Dennis; and his grandsons, Tyler and Jacob Greaves. He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Greaves (McDermott), Jeffrey Greaves (Jennifer), Kurt Greaves (Grace), Radford Greaves (Roxanne) and Natalie Greaves; his grandchildren, Paige Marentis (Theo), Adam Greaves, Alexandra Brown (Nick), Lucas Greaves (Alisha), Karson Greaves, Vanessa Mackey (Stephen), Omar Russell Jr., James Carroll, Taylor and Jordyn; his great grandchildren, Xavier, Trevor Mackey, Sofia Marentis and Brooks Brown; and his siblings, Linda Lukiewski (Mike) and Patrick Greaves (Angela).
In lieu of flowers and to honor Herb, a scholarship has been established through the South & West Washtenaw Consortium (SWWC), specifically to benefit students enrolled in the Building Trades program as they enter college and career.
