Gerald N. Austin Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald N. Austin of Saline, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 2, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Austin and Della Austin (Teachout); his brother Gene Austin; his brother-in-law Vic Guenther; his nephew Mike Guenther; and his father-in-law Ben Cochrane.

He is survived by: his wife Jan Austin; his children, Jim Austin, Tim Austin (Renee), Kristy Vanderpool (Jaime) and Kari Grounds; his grandchildren, Jonah, Domyan Austin (Jim), Breana, Bradley Austin (Tim), Chase Cundiff (Kristy), Reese, Drew, Reagan and Tyler Grounds (Kari); his sister Kay Guenther; and his brothers-in-law, Dale Cochrane (Sue) and Derek Cochrane (Lib). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Robison-Bahnmiller Funeral Home & Cremation Services (301 E Michigan Ave, Saline, MI 48176). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Oakwood Cemetery (227 W Michigan Ave, Saline, MI 48176).
