He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer L. F. and Violet B. Scherdt (Sweet); and his sister Rosemary Harook. He is survived by: his mother-in-law Marie H. Socks; his sons, Lewis Scherdt (Teri), Brian Scherdt (Mariann), Jeff Scherdt and Scott Scherdt (Crestina); his grandchildren, Lewis, Jerod, Brian, Randy, Cindy, Patricia, Michael, Rikki and Kaytlynn; his siblings, Sandy Gieske (Carl) and Clem Scherdt (Mary); and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Sweet. He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
