It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elaine E. Layher of Saline, Michigan, born in Milan, Michigan, who passed away on June 29, 2022, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sophie Kurowicki (Adamack) and Edward Kurowicki; her siblings, Stella Weber and Paul Kurowicki; and her half-sister Linda DeVee.
She is survived by: her husband John W. F. Layher; her children, Patricia Richter (Craig) of Saline, Paul Layher (Rikilynn) of Frankenmuth and John Layher (Jan Mata) of Tecumseh; her grandchildren, Joshua, Jared Richter of Saline, Sarah Richter of Grand Rapids, Sadie Layher of Boston, MA, Samuel Layher of Madison Heights, Bryan and Daniel Layher of Ypsilanti; her siblings, Janet Hann (Donald), June Fowler and David Kurowicki (Jean); her brother-in-law James Weber; her half-brother Edward Kurowicki (Vicky); her brother-in-law David DeVee; her niece Susan Yuhasz; and her caregivers, Andrea, Aide Pamela of St. Joseph Hospice, Alexandria, Ashley and Elaine. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, great-grand nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the church for beautifying the church grounds.
