He was predeceased by: his parents, Sigvald Olson and Hilda Olson (Carlson); his wife Mildred; his daughter Jerri Lynne Metty; his grandson Roger Coffey; his great grandchild Joshua Helfen; and his siblings, Melfred Olson, Alfred Olson, Cyril Olson, Leo Bjerke, Sylvia Kind, Gloria Hagen and Audrey Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Olson (Nancy) of Ypsilanti and Pamela Peterson (Eric) of Pinckney; his son-in-law Tom Metty of Dexter; his grandchildren, Tammy Vinton (Mark), Kristina Coffey (Jeremiah Pfahlert), Angela Olson (Bryan Rucinski), Julie Bennett (Aaron), Lisa Helfen (Matthew) and James Olson (Michelle); his sisters, Anna Jones (Herbert) of Ann Arbor and Mae LaBounty of Phoenix, AZ; and his cousins, Katherine Stollsteimer of Saline and Patsy Stollsteimer of Saline. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Paul U.C.C. and envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
