He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Patterson and Crystal Patterson (Stoner); and his siblings, Charles "Buck" Patterson, Melvin Patterson, Peggy Marcus, Rosie Lawrence, Melba Kettle, Waneda Smith and Wynona Parks.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Patterson of St. Louis, MI; and his sisters, Sandy Graham, Norm Graham of Ithaca, MI, Leona Todd and Bob Todd of Grand Rapids, MI.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
