He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Anderson and Agnes Anderson (Finch); his wife Barbara June Smock (Haught); his son Bob Smock; and his siblings, Andy, Gordon, Gerald, Richard, Howard, Dale, Basil, Gale, Ron, Dorthea, Loureen, Dorothy and Betty.

He is survived by: his daughters, Linda Cox of St. Louis and Nancy Phillipson of Gwinn, MI; his daughter-in-law Nancy Smock of Grand Ledge; his grandchildren, Emmett Phillipson, Kimberly Watt (Bob), Matthew Cox (Jackie), Robert Smock Jr., Melissa Gruca (Robert), Autumn Matelski (Luke), Eric Phillipson (Deidre) and Amanada Phillipson; his great grandchildren, Emmett Tyler Jr., Ethan, Kaden, Kayla, Eli, Delia, Aliyanna, Nova, Elijah, Harper, Donovan, Jayce, Anna, Alex and Leah; and his sister Arlene Farrier-Solomon. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
