It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Violet Witak in Saint Joseph, Michigan, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on March 18, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Vranek and Alice Vranek (McDougall); her former husband Robert F. Vredberg; her spouse Claude P. Witak; and her siblings, Alice Gerhardt and Frank Vranek.

She is survived by: her children, Al Vredberg (Nancy) of St. Joseph, Darold Vredberg (Dianne) of Elmhurst, Dan Vredberg (Marcy) of Sydney, Madelen Schuemann (Dennis) of Squaw Lake, MN, Michael Witak (Beverly) of Englewood, FL and Mary Brady of Fox Lake, IL. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grand & great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life Service will be announced and held later this year when restrictions are eased.

Memorial donations in Vi's name may be made to the Benton Harbor-Fairplain Lions Foundation, PO Box 8822, Benton Harbor, MI 49023.
