With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Richard Elwood of Saint Joseph, Michigan, who passed away on September 1, 2018 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Seth Brown and Della Brown (Bronstetter); his wife Betty A. Lytle; his sisters, Barbara Allen and Dorothy Pierce; and his daughter Norma Brown.

He is survived by: his sons, Richard "Rick" Brown (Lynn) of Constantine and Randy Lee Brown (Lou Ann) of Sturgis; his grandchildren, Myka Brown, Sarah Brown (Tim), David Alan Brown, Kevin Brown, Scott Post and Lindsay Lash (Brian); his sister Virginia Ann Ely; and his close friend Harriet Fitch. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorials be directed to either the Make-A-Wish Foundation, or to the Special Olympics.
