He was predeceased by: his parents, Helmut Gerstenkorn and Theresia Gerstenkorn (Schaller); his daughter Jennifer Gerstenkorn; his sister Doris Gerstenkorn; his brother-in-law Kenny Carr; and his parents-in-law, Jim and Teruko Masterson.

He is survived by: his wife Teresa Masterson; his children, Jason Gerstenkorn (Zoe) of Coloma, MI and Juliann Gerstenkorn (Corey) of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, Anyla, Jack and Silas; and his siblings, Erhard Gerstenkorn (Jacqui) and Heidi Splese (Gary) of St. Joseph, MI. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
