“I first met Joe on a canoe trip with Sarett Nature Center. We canoed the Bremner River in Ontario for MSU. The thing I remember is telling a joke/skit to the group over a camp fire. He was sitting on the ground and as I was going through the skit he began laughing and laughed so hard he was tearing up. After he told me I was a great "raconteur". I had never heard that term. Later I came across the term and understood. Working at Sarett later we became friends, a great guy!”
