She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Holger Ausen and Opal Ausen (Opheim); her husband Richard Hackbarth; her children, Richard Hackbarth (Tracey), Kirstin Meier (Roger) and Rebecca Sitas (Bill); her grandchildren, Abigail Champeau (Jimmy), Thomas Hackbarth, Samuel Hackbarth, John Hackbarth, Karah Zhou (Mike), Reidun Meier, Kathryn Sitas, Naomi Sitas and Leah Sitas; her great grandchild Madalyn Champeau; and her siblings, David Ausen, Jan Stadler (Tony), Carol Klindworth (Roland), Marilyn Laulainen (John), Orrin Ausen (Leslee) and Eileen Karow (Paul). She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
