He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Pliley and Treasure Pliley; his wives, Barbara and Kathryn; and his brother Russell.

He is survived by: his caregiver Betty; his children, Kimberly Harris (Mike) and Brad Pliley (Maureen); his grandchildren, George Smith, Jr. (Christin), April Gerner (Kyle), Andrew Pliley, Ashley Turner (Devin) and Aubree Pliley; his great grandchild James Smith; his children, Rick Brooks (Carol), Mary Forbes, Kristine Miller (Mike), Derek Brooks (Brenda) and Karolyn Bush (Dale); his sister Judy Pendergrass; his sister-in-law Georgie Bradford; his children, Brenda Hamm and Brian Pliley; his grandchildren, Ronnie Shaver, Jr. and Jessica Smith; and his brothers, Lloyd and Boyd.
