He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Harold Mitchell (Mitch) and Margaret Mitchell (Soule); his former wife Margaret Mitchell (Peggy); and his brothers, John Soule Mitchell and Peter George Mitchell.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Peggy" Robson; his daughters, Elizabeth Vaitkus (Arvydas) of Sawyer and Susan Mitchell of St. Joseph; and his grandchildren, Margaret Vaitkus of Bloomington, IN and Kestutis Vaitkus of Hammond, IN..
