He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodor Schlender and Ottilie Schlender; his children, Annette and Erick; his son-in-law Rick; and his siblings, Adolph, Arthur, Waldemar, Elsa and Sophie.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Jane Conklin; his grandson Micheal; and his children, Rodney, Tamera, Melinda, Nichole and April. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
