He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles E. Payne, Sr. and Henrietta Payne (Wesseldyk); and his adoptive father Keisha Phillips. He is survived by : his children, Mary Payne Donaldson (Scott) of Cincinnati, OH and John Edward Payne of Kalamazoo, MI.; his cousin Dr. James Wesseldyk (Linda) of South Haven, MI; his mother-in-law Christa Bythrow; and his children, Vicky, Bill Achterberg, Ken, Connie Harkleroad, Curt, Nancy Johnson, Gary, May Sisson, Diane and Glenn Youngstedt. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
