She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Shearer and Virginia Shearer (Abraham); her husband Don Ames; her stepdaughter Audrey; her brother Charles; and her nephew David.

She is survived by: her former husband David Hollomon; her stepson Joseph Hollomon; her son Joe of Grand Rapids; her stepchildren, Bruce Ames (Kathy) of Mesa, AZ and Esther Ames of Tucson, AZ; and her siblings-in-law, Dolores Shearer of Stevensville and Gail Peapples (Delores) of Sumnerville, S. C. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
