Though Betty Ruth may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Betty Ruth touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Presley Barnwell and Velma Nixola Barnwell; her husband Delmer Kirksey; her son Kevin Kirksey; and her brothers, Charles and Larry Barnwell.
She is survived by: her sister Shirley Gustafson; and her children, Kassandra Kirksey and Roger Kirksey (Jennifer Kirksey). She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, March 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Benton Harbor Church of Christ (1495 E Empire Ave, Benton Harbor, MI 49022).
