She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Kaatz and Caroline Kaatz (Schramm); her husband Vernon Lay; her daughter Dorothy Schott; and her siblings, Walter Kaatz, Lorraine Harmon, Henry Kaatz and Clara Neuman.
She is survived by: her children, Richard Lay of Fort Wayne, IN, Donald Lay of St. Joseph and Dianne Fernan (Vincent) of St. Joseph. She is also survived by six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
