He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde Elliot and Mamie Elmira Petty (Morand); his brother Pete; and his sisters-in-law, Ann and Jackie.
He is survived by: his former wife Barbara Elaine Petty; his wife Barb; his daughters, Jennifer and Katrina Gieszer (Josh); his brothers, Jack, David and Mike (Beth); and his nieces, Eva and Lauren. He is also survived by cousins and extended family.
