With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Maria Elena (Medina) Villarreal of Saint Johns, Michigan, born in Asherton, Texas, who passed away on March 6, 2023 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gregorio Medina and Hilaria Medina (Vega); and her siblings, Julia Laycock, Refugia (Pete Petrick), Pauline Diaz, SanJuanita (Carl Smith), Hilaria Medina, Dionicia (Antonio Rositas), Natividad (Romana Medina) and Miguel "Mike" (Felicitas Medina).

She is survived by: her spouse Cosme Villarreal; her son Thomas (Teresa Villarreal); her grandsons, Nicolas Villarreal (Jessica Spagnuolo) and Zachary Villarreal (Samantha Gross); her great grandchild Kaden Villarreal; and her sister Otilia Beebee. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
