He is survived by: his parents, John Vaniman and Blanche Vaniman (Metherd); his spouse Barbara Upton; his daughters, Linda Higgins (Daniel) of Longmont and Dawn Thornton (Craig) of Hudson; his grandchildren, Kyle Thornton of Brooklyn and Blake Thornton of Chicago; and his sister Anne Byrnes of Ovid.
