He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Fred and Arleita Belle VanVleet (Armstrong); and his siblings, Marlene Monfort (Jim), Bruce VanVleet (Barbara), Ronald VanVleet and David VanVleet.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley of St. Johns, MI; his sons, Steve (Tammy VanVleet) and Jeff (Delores VanVleet); his grandchildren, Mike VanVleet (Katherine), Eric VanVleet (Holly), Andy VanVleet, Jeremy Pung (Brooke), Jamie Pung and Kristi Stoddard (Brad); his sister Janet (Ed Thompson); and his siblings-in-law, Iris VanVleet of Colorado, Jim Mrazek of St. Johns, MI and Donna O'Brien of Lansing, MI.. He is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
