He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving LeRoy and Catherine Louise Sleight (Cramer); his wife Judith Kay Maag; and his sister-in-law Linda Sleight. He is survived by: his daughters, Autumn Harnish, Robin Bonter (John) and Heather Sleight (Melinda); his stepchildren, James Olney (Angela), Debra Ridge (Dan) and Wendy Jones (Scott); and his brother Merlin Sleight. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren.
