She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard J. Smith and Amalia Smith (Kolp); her stepmother Romilda Smith; and her sister SueAnn Leonard (Ralph) of Lansing. She is survived by: her children, Kathleen Orson of St. Johns, MI, Marie Westendorff Jr. (Roy) of Lawrence, MI, Anita Olney of Fowler, MI and Carl Orson (Vicki) of St. Johns, MI; her siblings, Donna Meitler of Grand Ledge, MI and Robert Smith (Ellen) of Grand Ledge, MI; and her aunt Rose Kolp of Westphalia, MI.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.
