He was predeceased by: his parents, Owen McFarlane and Elda McFarlane (Pemble); and his son David McFarlane. He is survived by: his wife Doris McFarlane; his sister Marquita Lubitz of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his grandchildren, Richard Jr. (Zach McFarlane), Tina (Chuck Becker), Tammy (Sarah Smith), Terri (Jay Allan), Desiree (Brooke Allan), John (Brady McFarlane), Jayce Causley, Rochelle McFarlane, Jagger (Caleb McFarlane) and Bailey Stratton; and his great grandchildren, John, Jada McDonald and Natalie McFarlane. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
