He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Ruegg and Marie Ruegg (Blome); his wife Joan McLachlan of St. Ignace; his brothers, Otto Ruegg Jr. (Battle) and Joe Ruegg; and his brother-in-law Bob Ruegg.
He is survived by: his children, Philip Ruegg (Mary Kaye) of St. Ignace, Pamela Ruegg Morgen (Keith) of Okemos and Pte; his grandchildren, Kate Shaw (Matt), Elizabeth Litzner (Rand), Jonathan Ruegg, Sam Morgen, Lucas Morgen, Anna DeCamp and Jimmie DeCamp; his great grandchildren, Noah Litzner and Isabel Litzner; and his sister Marie Bullock of Conroe.
