He is survived by: his wife Paula Janssens Smagacz; his daughter Kelley Dake (Joshua) of Carlsbad, CA; his grandchildren, Zachary, Samuel and Charlie; his son Jason Smagacz (Mary Ashley) of Rockford, MI; his grandchildren, Oliver, Scarlett, Eddy and Beatrice; his son Christopher Smagacz (Kristen Roessel) of Ferndale, MI; his grandchildren, Crew and Harlo; his sisters-in-law, Martha Janssens and Lori Janssens Hall; and his sister Patricia Dupre (Kevin). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Compassus Hospice Care or MyMichigan Health Foundation Oncology and Hematology.
