He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess Owens and Mary Owens (Brock); and his siblings, Larry and Carol Wise. He is survived by: his former wife Janet Bassham; his wife Janet Owens of St. Helen; his son Jason Owens (Cindie) of Durand; his grandchildren, Skylar, Anevay, Carter, Kaylee and Conner; his brother Gary Owens (Leslie) of Clio; and his siblings-in-law, Connie Yates and Dennis Wise of Clio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
