He was predeceased by: his siblings, Paul and Mary Julia. He is survived by: his wife Kathie; his children, Maureen Grottke, Stephanie Hartney and Marcella Smith (Marcy); and his grandchildren, Alex, Keegan and Haley.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Capuchin Blessed Father Solanus Center, Mt. Elliot, Detroit, Michigan.
