He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Surline and Carolyn Surline; his son Fredrick J. "Freddy" Surline Jr.; his brothers, Thomas and Richard Surline; and his father-in-law Wolfgang Mader.
He is survived by: his wife Dana Mader; his sons, Kenneth J. Surline (Sunny) and Christopher A. Surline; his grandson Ethan; his siblings, David Surline, Mitchell Surline (Cindy), Patrick Surline, Carol Barringer, Nancy Herbert, Sherry Coburn and Tammy Gerstenberger (Todd); his mother-in-law Marie Mader; and his sister-in-law Alena Batchan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
