He was predeceased by: his father Edward Alexander Christie Jr.; and his aunt Claire K. Bullis. He is survived by: his significant other Jennifer Besimer; his sons, Francis James Christie and Griffin Alexander Christie; his significant other's children, Domenick and Abigail Sinacola; his mother Margaret Christie; his sisters, Jane Simmermon (Joel) and Kathleen Steensma (Rich); his nieces, Emily Freeman (Chris), Sarah Dickhut (Mason), Rachel Simmermon, Anna Steensma and Erin Simmermon; and his close friend Pete.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the St. Clair County Humane Society, SNAP.
