She was predeceased by: her parents, Elza Vinson and Geneva; her siblings, John F. Vinson and Nancy E. Blendl; and her niece Patricia Alley.
She is survived by: her husband Darryl Tucker; her sister Marge Hamill (Carter); her sibling-in-law Shawn Vinson; her nieces and nephews, Geneva Okamoto (Doug), Willard Fluary, Jr., John Stowell Vinson (Kathy), Katherine Marie Tucker (David), John W. Drotar (Laetietia), Michelle Marie Drotar and Further; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cora, Kiera, Evan, Liam, Paige, Leah, Jamesetta, Leon, Amélie, Raphael, Alexandré, Hudson and Hemingway. She is also survived by family members and friends.
Until the pandemic, Velma enjoyed a weekly breakfast with a core group of friends that met almost every Saturday morning to share their stories of their week, their highlights, and kibitzing.
