He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Kostenko and Anna Kostenko; and his brother Makary Kosten. He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou; and his children, Anna Turgeon (Mark), Diana Pelzer (Patrick), Steven (Christine) and Todd.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bagnasco & Calcaterra Funeral Home (25800 Harper, St Clair Shores, MI 48081). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made to Saint Thomas Lutheran at 23801 Kelly Road in Eastpointe, 48021.
