He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Ruddock (Seiler) and Lewis Ruddock Sr.; his siblings, Joyce Dillon, Roger Ruddock, Danny Ruddock and Randy Ruddock; and his in-laws, Elma (Wark), Harold Zimmer and LeRoy Zimmer.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his grandchildren, Maxwell, Olivia, Calvin, Mitchell, Emma, Luca, Nico and Marco; his siblings, Judy Veenstra (Ken), Jerry Ruddock (Mae), Mary Lou Goodman (Lonnie) and Dennis Ruddock (Norma); and his siblings-in-law, Margie Ruddock, Beverley Benne (Max), Rosalie Meyer (Bob), Linda Zimmer, Duane Zimmer (Mary Lou) and Norman Zimmer (Doreen). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Lew's memory to Henry Ford Health – Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorder Program or Lake Shore Presbyterian Church.

“I was saddened to hear of the passing of my 11th grade chemistry teacher and friend. He was a great teach and I enjoyed his class very much. My fondest memory was our brief but impactful conversation at the memorial service of our principal Robert Schaublin. Although his battle with Parkinson’s had payed a toll on his physical health, he amazed me with his memory of my time in his class some 45 years earlier. May his family find abundant peace and comfort in the days ahead.”
