He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph and Dorothy Ivy Dobson (Hooper); his siblings, William "Bill" (Pat) and Susan Sihtala; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Stobbelaar; and his former wife Peggy.
He is survived by: his wife Sue; his brother-in-law Ronald Sihtala (Stu); his stepson Mark Stobbelaar; his stepgranddaughter Amber Levely (Adam); his stepson Ronald Miner (Kristie); his stepgrandchildren, Paige and Sydney Birchmeier; his stepdaughter Laura Green (McCoy); his stepgranddaughter Kaylee; his stepson William Miner (Megan); his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth, Madelynne, Matthew and Andrew; his niece Laura Sihtala; his nephews, Michael Dobson (Rita), Paul Dobson (Jan) and Timmy Dobson (Vickie); and also, Emmalee, Aidan, Evan and Brennan. He is also survived by several great nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
