He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Southgate and Anna Southgate (Herman); his daughters, Kelly L. Southgate and Wendy Murphy; his sisters, Marilyn Latimer and Carol Schairer; and his parents-in-law, Emma Jacoby and John Jacoby.

He is survived by: his wife Noreen A. Jacoby; his sons, Ronald Southgate II and Brian Southgate; his grandchildren, Sara Schneider (Brent), Justin Southgate, Benjamin Hesser, Elise Hesser and Brianna Hartley; his great grandchildren, Cash J. Schneider and Harper Woods; his brother Phillip Southgate (Carole Archangeli); and his brother-in-law Walter Latimer.
