He was predeceased by : his mother Rosie Mae Cook; his grandparents, Willie Lee Cook, Alberta Jordan, John Jordan and Harper Cook; his brothers, Willie James Cook, Johnny Jordan, Randall and Donnell Wilderness; his uncle Milton Waters; his nephew Steven Johnson; and his brother-in-law Tommy Thomas.
He is survived by : his siblings, Bertha Rodgers, Mary Thomas, Barbara of Washington, Sharon Mack (Elaine), Cary Bee Reed, Irma Jordan, Charlene Payne, Alberta and Elvis; his aunts and uncles, Fannie Handley (David), Annyce Luckett (Dennis), Ann Harper, Madam Collins, James Cook (Marcy), Melvin Cook and Robert Cook (Georgia); his nieces and nephews, Chanda Thompson, Jessica Hovi (Koffi), Travanda Thomas, Jacqueline Ross, Shatara Thomas, Brianna Davis, Syrina Johnson, Titus Bowman IV and Joseph Ross, Jr.; his close friends, Sally Landeryou, Sandy Bludson, Sonja Brown, Cleveland, Modina Willianson and Julio Rodrigez; and his children, Rosie of Washington and John (Jordan). He is also survived by great-great-nieces, and nephews; many other relatives and friends.
