He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruben Brooks and Estell Brooks; his siblings, Robert Brooks, Gloria and Beverly Stephenson (Brooks); and his niece Kaytrina Brooks.
He is survived by: his daughters, DeMarcus Brooks of Los Angeles, CA, Tia Brooks-Wannemacher (Stacey) of Grand Rapids, MI and Tori Brooks of Los Angeles, CA; his grandchildren, David Kelley, Jr. of Ohio, Da'Vaya Hamrick of Ohio, Kieara of Michigan and Nathaniel Brooks-Wannemacher of Michigan; and his siblings, Doris Brooks, MaryLou Sanders (Charlie), Betty Brooks, Donna Brooks (Roseane Brooks), Jimmy Brooks (Pam), Ruben Brooks (Richelle), Darnell Brooks (Sandra), Johnnie and James Brooks. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
