The memory of Bonifacio Zapata Jr. of Saginaw, Michigan, who passed away on February 12, 2025 at the age of 72, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Maxine Zapata (Rocha) and Bonifacio E. Zapata Sr.; his sister Agnes L. Zapata; and his brother-in-law Steve Cooper. He is survived by: his sisters, Sister Lucia Zapata, Lucy Cooper-Schexnaildre (Al) of Bay City and Lori Munoz (Tomas) of Saginaw; his nieces, Blanca Ecker (Chris), Cecilia Rusin (Josh) and Rebeca Munoz; his great-niece Zoe Olivia Ecker; and his great-nephew Christopher Thomas Ecker. He is also survived by his nieces, great niece and great nephew.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A vigil service will be held on Monday, February 24th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the Deisler Funeral Home (2233 Hemmeter Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Cathedral of Mary (615 Hoyt Ave, Saginaw, MI 48607).
Memorials in honor of Bonifacio may be made to the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption.
